Chelford hosted Pott Shrigley on another green wicket (bloody weather!) so it was no surprise that Chelford found themselves batting first with Pott having won the toss.
Progress was slow with no batsmen looking comfortable. C.Fenn made 22 and N.Srivastsava 26 leaving Chelford 3 down when the rain came. Tea was taken to reduce the loss of overs to only 6. On resumption A.Duffy 32 and I.Patel 36 batted fluently. Wickets fell at regular intervals and again H.Jeanes impressed with 24 n.o. from 18 balls taking Chelford to 198-7.
For Pott A.Jackson bowled well picking up 1-37 but M.Tarr took the bowling honours with 3-45.
In reply Pott lost wickets in little clusters but with only 39 overs to try and bowl them out Chelford ran out of time; Pott finishing 95-8.Chelford were excellent in the field with good catches from H.Vora and A.Duffy. The bowlers performed creditably K.Bhardwa 3-40, Z.Khan 3-30 and M.Doggart 2-9. M.Shallcross pulled a muscle in his 3rd over and was unable to continue, a huge loss let’s hope Mark recovers in time for next weeks trip to Barrow. 16 points gained for the draw well done men , more of the same next week.
