Chelford welcomed Glazebury to Peover Lane for the final game of the 2012 season. Chelford already champions and looking for a 9th consecutive win against a Glazebury side already relegated.
Glazebury won the toss and chose to bowl first. Glazebury’s approach was somewhat unorthadox using 10 different “bowlers” in the first ten overs, even though relegated this is still a first Xl league match Glazebury showing a distinct lack of pride and passion in their game.
Chelford however approached the game as any other adding 36 before M.Dickenson 17 nicked one. H.Vora; more than a little bemused by proceedings, missed a straight one leaving Chelford 47-2. I.Patel joined opener C.Fenn and the pair added 125 in 17 overs before C.Fenn fell for a superb 106 his 2nd ton of the season taking his tally to an impressive 694 for the season. A.Duffy 10 went next adjudged L.B.W soon to be followed by I.Patel for an excellent 54.
H.Jeanes joined Z.Khan and they added 47 before Z.Khan was runout for a quickfire 36. H.Jeanes industrious as ever finished 27 n.o. taking Chelford to 272-7.Glazebury used 11 bowlers including wicketkeeper D.Acton who went for 22 in 1 over.
In reply Chelfords D.Fenn and M.Shallcross shared the first 5 wickets, Z.Khan joined in with a couple and K.Bhardwa grabbed 1. M.Shallcross came back to finish things off taking 4-38, D.Fenn 3-35, Z.Khan 2-53 and K.Bhardwa 1-22. Glazebury 158 allout Chelford take 25 points and make it 9 in a row. S.Oliver took 3 more victims behind the stumps taking his tally to 23.
Chelford finish the season on 421 points over a 100 points ahead of their nearest rivals well done men.
